Four Special Olympics Indiana Basketball Teams Picked to Play at NBA Fan Fest
INDIANAPOLIS —Special Olympics Indiana basketball teams will take to the court as part of NBA Fan Fest, displaying their skills alongside the world’s greatest players.
Teams representing Marion, Johnson, Shelby and Madison counties will compete Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Indiana Convention Center. Tipoffs include:
- 1 p.m. (women): Marion County South Lightning vs. Johnson County Lady Warriors
- 2:15 p.m. (men): Shelby County Magic vs. Madison County Mustangs
Spectators and media can access the courts via the West Maryland Street entrance across from the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown Hotel. Door 3 is closest, but Door 4 is ADA accessible.
Admission to that area of Fan Fest is free.
Additioanlly, NBA Crossover, a ticketed fan event, is available through the glass entrance at Capitol Avenue and Georgia Street. Admission is $20 for children, $35 for adults and $150 for VIP access. Multi-day and concert-specific tickets also are available at NBAEvents.com.
The NBA All-Star Game is Sunday, Feb. 18, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Special Olympics Indiana is one of two charity partners for the game.
The NBA will donate $100,000 to Special Olympics Indiana and an additional $950 per assist during the game. If the East Team wins, Special Olympics Indiana receives an additional $240,000 donation.
