Special Olympics Indiana Adds Jen Kelso as Vice President

Special Olympics Indiana

Special Olympics Indiana has hired Jen Kelso as vice president. She will focus on sports, United Champion Schools, health and fitness, regional management and organizational development. Kelso also will lead human resources and performance management.

Kelso earned a degree in rehabilitation counseling from Northern Illinois University and did graduate work on public administration and organizational leadership at the University of Illinois and Dominican University. She worked for Special Olympics Illinois for 25 years in a variety of positions, most recently as senior director of Unified initiatives.

“Jen has excelled at implementing and growing the Unified initiatives throughout Illinois and across the United States,” Special Olympics Indiana President and CEO Jeff Mohler said. “We look forward to her innovative spirit joining our team.”

“I am excited to contribute to Special Olympics Indiana’s mission of creating inclusion and empowering individuals to become the best versions of themselves they can be,” Kelso said. “I am eager to meet the athletes throughout Indiana who inspire us and talk to the dedicated individuals who work every day to deliver opportunities on a local level.”

As the lead of Special Olympics North America’s efforts to implement and grow soccer programs on the state level, Kelso also manages the partnerships between Special Olympics and Major League Soccer among other organizations.

Kelso began her duties at Special Olympics Indiana on Wednesday, May 1.
