Volunteers Needed for State Golf and Softball Tournaments Aug. 28th

by | Aug 11, 2021 | Uncategorized

As a part of the annual Eunice Kennedy Shriver Games, Special Olympics Indiana is looking forward to hosting its 2021 State Golf and Softball Tournaments on Saturday, August 28th — and our athletes are excited and ready to compete at the state level after a full summer of practice and training!

We have multiple volunteer opportunities for these events, ranging from scorekeeping on the golf course to working at a “table crew” for softball to selling souvenirs. As you probably already know, Special Olympics Indiana can’t operate without its amazing volunteers, and we need your help to make these events possible for the athletes!

Both state tournaments will be held in Greenwood, with golf to take place at Hickory Stick Golf Club while softball is played just up the road at the Center Grove Lassie League.

Competition will last all day at both venues, and we have morning and afternoon volunteer sessions available for each. Most shifts are 4-5 hours in length. Volunteers will be trained on-site and receive a volunteer t-shirt. This is a great opportunity for families, sports teams, civic groups, and companies to volunteer as a group!

To register, click below or visit https://2021golf-softball.my-trs.com/ and click the purple “Register Now” box. You will then select either “Golf State Competition” or “State Softball Tournament,” depending on your preference. From there, select your desired volunteer shift and complete your registration following the prompts. Contact Lindsay Blythe with any questions.

Thanks in advance for your support of Special Olympics Indiana!
