Special Olympics Indiana Announces The First Wave of Athletes To Team Indiana For The 2026 USA Games.
Special Olympics athletes from across the United States will compete in June 2026 during the USA Games in Minnesota. This event will bring together 3,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and 75,000 fans from all 50 states.
More than 100 athletes, Unified partners, coaches and volunteers will represent their counties and their state as part of Team Indiana.
On Sunday, during the Adult State Basketball Tournament at Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield, Special Olympics Indiana introduced the first wave of athletes that will make up Team Indiana and compete for gold in 2026.
· BASKETBALL. Boone County
· CORNHOLE. Richard Newton and Deanna Niemin-Kucinski of Porter County. Devin Lee and Kevin Anderson of White County. Mallary and Melinda Kemper of Delaware County. Martha Loper and Troy Atkinson of Jay County. Christian and Thomas Huber of Lake County.
· FLAG FOOTBALL. Madison County Mustangs.
· MEN’S GOLF. Eli Hightshue of Johnson County
Team Indiana members will attend training camps in the leadup to the 2026 Games. Rosters for bocce, bowling, women’s golf, powerlifting, soccer, swimming and track and field will be announced later.
