A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all who supported and took part in our 2019 Polar Plunge season, including the plunge participants, Super Plungers, Executive Challenge partners, sponsors, media groups, volunteers, and donors!
Thanks to people like you, Special Olympics Indiana can continue its work toward improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by offering year-round programs and events at no cost to the participants. And remember: as our signature fundraiser, all funds raised by the Polar Plunge support these opportunities for more than 16,000 Special Olympics athletes in every corner of the state.
So as you thaw out and look forward to next year, take pride in the fact that your support has truly made a difference in their lives. Thanks again for Freezin’ for a Reason!
By the Numbers
Nearly 400 volunteers helped us to host a total of 18 Polar Plunge events, and around 3,000 participants worked to raise a preliminary total of $843,000! Although we didn’t ultimately reach our fundraising goal for the 2019 Polar Plunge, we did raise more than ever before in the 20 year history of the event.
Special thanks are due to the 2019 Class of Super Plungers — an outstanding group of 18 individuals who raised at least $4,000 each and more than $100,000 between them — and to our top overall fundraising team for 2019: the men of Sigma Tau Gamma at Purdue University, who brought in nearly $40,000 for Special Olympics Indiana!
