Before more than 2,000 Special Olympics Indiana athletes converge on Terre Haute to compete in the 2022 Summer Games, the Indiana Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) invites officers and agencies from across the state to come together and carry the torch during the Indianapolis Torch Run or the Terre Haute Torch Run. Be Part of the Tradition!

The Law Enforcement Torch Run was started in 1981 by Chief Richard LaMunyon in Wichita, Kan., with just a few runners. Today it has grown to the largest grassroots supporter of Special Olympics across the globe, raising tens of millions of dollars each year.

Officers can participate in a run at Summer Games in June in Terre Haute, Eunice Kennedy Shriver Games in September in Indianapolis or a locally coordinated run. Runs can also be added if there is not one in your county.
