UPDATE: The Johnson County Unified Golf Tour competition scheduled for Sunday, July 21 will go on as planned. Golfers and coaches are advised to stay hydrated and to take all necessary precautions to stay safe.

With sustained temperatures in the mid-90s and heat indices expected to rise above 105 degrees both today and tomorrow (July 19 & 20), the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for most of Indiana until 8 p.m. EDT Sunday.

As a result, Special Olympics Indiana has officially cancelled the Clark-Floyd Counties Unified Golf Tour competition scheduled for Saturday, with a determination about Sunday’s Johnson County event to be made tomorrow. All registered programs have been notified of this determination via email, but coaches and parents are asked to help spread the word to any athletes or partners planning to compete. Additional information about Unified Golf Tour scoring will be communicated at a later date.

In the interest of safety, all Area and County program leaders also are encouraged to cancel or postpone any scheduled outdoor practices or competitions this weekend. Please refer to the chart below or to page 32 of the 2019-2020 Program Information Guide for additional information about our event policies.
