Bowling Teams Compete on National Stage

Bowling Team with Medals

Teams from Clark-Floyd, Delaware, Hancock, Lake and Porter counties travel this week to Baton Rouge, La., for the 33rd annual Special Olympics National Unified Bowling Championships. Opening Ceremonies take place today with competition on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 26.

Hosted by Special Olympics North America, the three-day event includes more than 350 Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners from 21 programs across the United States and the Caribbean.

Unified teams include equal numbers of athletes with and without intellectual disabilities. Competitions include doubles and four-person team formats.
