2018 Plane Pull Challenge Cancelled Due to Severe Weather
With heavy thunderstorms battering the Indianapolis area on Saturday morning and a forecast calling for no reprieve until after noon, airport officials and Special Olympics Indiana staff were forced to cancel the 2018 Plane Pull Challenge for the safety of everyone involved. Due to the logistics and complexity of the event, no make-up date can be scheduled this year.
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard over the past few months to raise money and awareness for the more than 16,000 Special Olympics athletes across the state. Though we are all disappointed to miss out on the fun of pulling a plane this year, please take pride in the fact that your team accepted the challenge and made a real and lasting difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities who take part in our year-round programs and events!
Thanks to you, we know that there are clear skies ahead — and we hope to see you all again next year for the 2019 Plane Pull Challenge to Benefit Special Olympics Indiana!
