Eunice Kennedy Shriver (EKS) was a trail-blazing leader who broke down barriers to improve the lives of millions of people with intellectual disabilities, their families and communities around the world for more than five decades.
In 2011, there will be EKS Games held in her honor. The inaugural EKS Games will be held at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, Ind., on September 24-25.
