Special Olympics Indiana offers year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching nearly 11,000 athletes across Indiana. Athletes can compete at a variety of levels that accommodate a diverse range of abilities. In addition, peers without an intellectual disability can train and compete with athletes in the Special Olympics Unified Sports® program, which brings together athletes with and without disabilities of similar age and athletic ability to train and compete on the same sports teams.
