A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all who supported and took part in our 2018 Polar Plunge season, including the plunge participants, Super Plungers, Executive Challenge partners, sponsors, media groups, volunteers, and donors!
Thanks to people like you, Special Olympics Indiana can continue its work toward improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by offering year-round programs and events at no cost to the participants. As our signature fundraiser, all funds raised by the Polar Plunge support these opportunities for more than 14,000 Special Olympics athletes in every corner of the state.
So as you thaw out and look forward to next year, know that your support has made a difference in their lives. Thanks again for Freezin’ for a Reason!
By the Numbers
Though we fell just short of our fundraising goal for the 2018 Polar Plunge season, nearly 400 volunteers helped us to host 16 events, and around 3,000 participants worked to raise an incredible $736,000!
Special thanks to the 2018 Class of Super Plungers — an outstanding group of 15 individuals who raised at least $4,000 each, and more than $100,000 between them — and to our top overall fundraising team for 2018: the men of Sigma Tau Gamma at Purdue University, who brought in nearly $40,000 for Special Olympics Indiana!
