Unified Sports Rivalry Series
The Unified Sports Rivalry Series, sponsored nationally by ESPN, was created to connect Unified Sports and Special Olympics athletes to high profile collegiate rivalry sports games.
There is endless excitement and intensity surrounding these college rivalries, and Special Olympics Indiana is looking to tap into that excitement by hosting its second annual Unified Sports Rivalry Series event just before the Indiana University and Purdue University football teams face off for the Old Oaken Bucket.
Through a partnership with Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and Lambda Chi Alpha — and with the help of student leaders at IU, Purdue, and Valparaiso University — Special Olympics Indiana athletes are training hard to compete alongside their unified partners in a pair of spirited flag football games, to be held Friday, Nov. 17 at Purdue University.
Teams are charged with raising funds and awareness on their respective campuses before then, so choose your side and join the movement by helping your school reach their fundraising goals before game day. The team that raises the most money by game day will start their Rivalry Game with an advantage!!
*Registration and pre-game festivities begin at 5 PM. High school exhibition games begin at 6 PM, with featured college games scheduled for 7 PM and 8 PM respectively. This event is free and open to the public.
