Join Us this Summer for Special Olympics’ 50th Anniversary Celebration in Chicago!
The spark that became today’s Special Olympics movement ignited in 1968, at the first International Summer Games in Chicago. Five decades later, we are returning to where it all began to take part in a series of commemorative events hosted by Special Olympics International, July 17-21. Join Special Olympics Indiana athletes, families, volunteers, and staff for an unforgettable experience, honoring the past and celebrating the future of the Special Olympics movement!
Special Olympics Indiana is planning to take part in the festivities by leading a group outing on Friday, July 20th, and everyone is invited! However, space is limited and slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so don’t wait to register.

- Attendees are not required to stay at the host hotel but must report there for departure at 8 AM.
- Participants in the Indiana Experience may take part in additional activities planned by Special Olympics International (i.e. Global Day of Inclusion, Unity Concert), but will be responsible for making arrangements on their own.
